Application and Functionality

True Cotton staple fibers can be used in any carded nonwoven manufacturing process (or long staple airlaid process). The applications and end uses for this fiber are extremely wide reaching and will be impossible to totally identify. Below we will attempt to review the major target areas where our product is currently needed.

Baby Wipes

True Cotton can be used as a polyester substitute in baby wipes, as it does not have the absorbent functionality that traditional bleached cotton has been utilized for. When combined with rayon, True Cotton can result in a functional baby wipe with the added benefits of being bio-based, biodegradable, and skin-friendly.

Please contact us for more information and access to a full range of baby wipe fabric samples containing our cotton fiber.

Hard Surface Wipes

Greige cotton has many positive attributes which help it perform well as a food service wipe or home hard surface wipe. The low linting properties of our premium fibers allow for low streaking, highly marketable biodegradable wipes.

Please contact us for more information and access to hard surface wipe fabric materials containing our cotton fiber.

Industrial Wipes

The superb oleophilic properties of unbleached cotton allow True Cotton to perform very well in industrial wiping applications. It has been shown that greige cotton can absorb many times its own weight in oil, even more so than standard polypropylene fibers. True Cotton can be blended with rayon for an industrial wipe which absorbs water based and oil based spills.

Please contact us for more information on industrial wipe materials containing our cotton fiber.

Medical Wipes

True Cotton's skin friendly characteristics and hypo-allergenic properties allow for good functionality on a medical wipe. This safe, natural material should be highly sought after by those patients with certain skin sensitivity conditions.

Diaper Topsheet/Cover Stock

True Cotton, because of its natural hydrophobic properties makes an excellent material for a functional diaper top sheet. The natural breathability, softness, wet resiliency, and consumer preference of cotton, especially when compared with other materials used for hygienic nonwovens, makes this a raw material that every diaper researcher or manager should be pursuing.. Extensive research has been performed on True Cotton in its pure form and blended with other man made polymers and bio based fibers found in nonwoven hygiene composites.

Please contact us to receive comprehensive information in regard to our cotton fiber’s performance in hygiene fluid management testing.

Diaper Acquisition-Distribution Layer

True Cotton has been shown to be a highly effective component in diaper acquisition-distribution layers when combined with low amounts of absorbent materials. The performance characteristics show that cotton can be utilized for this end use.

Please contact us to receive comprehensive information in regard to our cotton fiber’s performance in acquisition-distribution materials.

Diaper Back Sheet Cover

Nonwoven fabrics made with True Cotton that impart the softness and natural feel of unbleached cotton could easily be constructed and bound to a nonwoven back sheet laminate material.

Please contact us to receive information in regard to our cotton fiber’s performance as a diaper back sheet cover.

Feminine Care Top Sheet

True Cotton, because of its natural hydrophobic properties makes an excellent material for a functioning feminine care top sheet. The natural breathability, softness, sustainability profile and consumer preference of cotton, especially when compared with other materials used for hygienic nonwovens, makes True Cotton a desirable raw material for consumers.

Please contact us to receive comprehensive information in regard to our cotton fiber’s performance vs. commercially available polypropylene spun bond and apertured film top sheet materials.

Feminine Care Acquisition-Distribution Layer

True Cotton has been shown to be an effective component in feminine care acquisition distribution layers when combined with low amounts of absorbent materials. The performance characteristics show that greige cotton can be readily utilized for this end use. Again, this hygiene component could be marketed as bio-based and consumer preferred.

Please contact us to receive comprehensive information in regard to our cotton fiber’s performance in acquisition-distribution materials.

Advanced Wound Care Products

Research has shown that True Cotton has very interesting wound healing properties brought about by the manifestation of wax and pectin located on the cotton fiber. Extensive research has been performed on the exact modes of action for many of these until recently unknown properties. Please contact us for further comprehensive info on True Cotton targeted wound care devices. Furthermore, the hydrophobic properties of greige cotton also allow it to have non-adherent properties, thus reducing damage from any interactions with the eschar seen in some forms of wound healing.
